I reckon she's the most rewarding simply because she plays "hard-to-get", up until the very end. Once you wiggle through her trust issues and tough exterior, there's a heartwarming and caring person underneath. She's a sensible, organized, blunt and tempered gal who is convinced of her views. I've done at least five runs of her route (friendzone, Athletic, Intelligent, Intuitive, and one just to play with the Intersection dialogue) and her arc is the most compelling. Kaori is my character's one true pairing. The main problem with Valerie for me, is that I haven't delved into her route, but her personality comes off as such a sexual kind of gal, it doesn't really suit my fancy. It's a shame because Visual Novels come to an end, and thus, the story does too, with the exception of imagination. As for Kaori's, maybe she's my type of girl IRL, but I'm extremely curious how she fares with the protagonist (US) after the story. Yeah, I have yet to traverse any other routes, but I'm extremely curious about the others. I think it helps with the emotional scenes and makes them feel more special, compared to if a character wasn't shy at all and so straightforward about their feelings, it'd kind of be a let down if it was thrown in your face right away, but that's my opinion. The fact that she is extremely bluntly honest, and stubborn kind of makes her a little shy at expressing feelings other than well, rude comments. And I want to know if I like Kaori or Valerie more after the relationship was a bit of a turn off at first yes, but I do think that it plays into her character a bit well. Kaori is extremely stubborn, but when she shows her good side I can't help but smile. Personally, Kaori is my favorite, despite my love for all the characters.
